About Questions Camp

What is Questions Camp?+

Questions Camp is an after-school enrichment programme for children aged 9–16 that builds critical thinking through curiosity. Using the CTDL framework (Critical Thinking Driven Learning) — a three-stage cycle of Ask → Act → Reflect — students move from foundational curiosity to independent research. It is a programme of FlourishEd, a learning science organisation dedicated to human flourishing.

How is it different from tutoring or test prep?+

Tutoring and test prep focus on content — getting better at existing subjects. Questions Camp focuses on how your child thinks. We teach skills that transfer across every subject, every exam, and every stage of life: forming better questions, evaluating information critically, and building original ideas. In a world where AI can answer almost any question, the students who thrive are the ones who know how to ask better ones.

What ages is it for?+

Questions Camp is for children aged 9–16 (Grade 4 and above). You don't need to be a high achiever to benefit. Some of the most transformative journeys come from students who didn't fit conventional academic settings but thrived when given permission to question.

The Program

What programs are available?+

Questions Camp is structured into two levels. L1 — Curious Minds (16 sessions): the foundational program, also known as Base Camp. Students build the core skills of curiosity, questioning, collaborative inquiry, and responsible AI use. L2 — Curious Explorers (12 sessions): the next step, also known as Intermediate. Students go deeper into independent research, structured argument, source evaluation, and AI as a thinking partner. Running alongside both levels is Creative Thinkers: Storytelling — an L2 parallel program in partnership with Canopy that applies critical thinking through the art of story. Students don't leave with a grade — they leave with a portfolio and the confidence to say: "I had a question. I investigated it. I built something. I can defend it."

What is the Curiosity Compass?+

The Curiosity Compass is a 30–45 minute personalised assessment that maps your child's curiosity profile across five dimensions: observation, questioning, information evaluation, debate, and research. Results are used to set their learning path and track growth over time. We recommend taking it before enrolling — it ensures your child starts at the right level.

Take the Curiosity Compass
What does a typical session look like?+

Sessions are facilitated, not lecture-based — facilitators guide thinking rather than deliver content. Each session follows the Ask → Act → Reflect cycle: activating curiosity, working through an inquiry challenge, and reflecting on what was learned. Activities include observation exercises, question-formation practice, structured debates, and source evaluation tasks.

How often are sessions, and for how long?+

Sessions run once a week, and each session is 90 minutes long. Curious Minds (L1) is 16 sessions; Curious Explorers (L2) is 12 sessions. The initial commitment is three months. Questions Camp has a free entry and exit policy — families can unenroll at any time with no penalty.

What is the Curiosity Project?+

The culminating experience of each level. Every student chooses a topic they genuinely care about and investigates it using everything they've built — forming original questions, evaluating sources, debating perspectives, and conducting independent research. The project is presented TEDx-style to peers. Past students have explored topics from climate policy to social media to local history.

Is there a virtual option?+

Yes. Curious Minds (L1) and Curious Explorers (L2) are both available in-person at partner schools and learning centers, and virtually. Virtual sessions follow the same curriculum and structure.

How will I track my child's progress?+

Every child receives a personalised Curiosity Profile at the start of the programme. Parents receive a full progress report every month, tracking growth across curiosity, questioning, and critical thinking skills. You can also follow progress anytime through your parent portal on the online platform.

Are children grouped by age?+

No. Children are grouped by their Curiosity Profile, not their age. A 12-year-old and a 15-year-old with similar inquiry strengths may work together — this makes conversations richer and more authentic than age-based grouping.

For Students

What will I actually do?+

You'll practise asking better questions — and discover that a great question is often more interesting than the answer. Sessions involve real challenges: observation puzzles, debates, source investigations, and building toward your own Curiosity Project on a topic you actually care about. It's active, not passive — you'll be doing, discussing, and discovering, not sitting and listening.

Do I need to be a strong student to join?+

No. Questions Camp isn't about grades. It's about curiosity — and everyone is curious about something. You don't need all the answers. You just need to be willing to ask questions and explore them honestly. The virtual option also means you can join from anywhere, on your own schedule.

For Schools & Learning Centers

How do we become a partner?+

Schedule a free 30-minute demo call — see a live session, ask every question, and get a proposal tailored to your center. Email info@questionscamp.com, call (214) 326-0049, or use the contact form on this site. Partner slots are limited and offered on a first-come basis.

Do we need to hire new staff?+

No. Your existing teachers deliver the programme after completing QCamp Teacher Certification Training — a self-paced online course. No new hires, no outside facilitators. Your team, your space, our curriculum.

What does Questions Camp provide?+

Everything needed to run the programme from day one: the full curriculum and session plans, student worksheets and assessment tools, teacher certification training, the online platform for progress tracking, and quarterly Curiosity Profile reports for every student and their parents.

Is delivery flexible?+

Yes. Questions Camp can be offered after school, on weekends, in-person at your facility, or virtually — designed to fit your existing schedule with minimal disruption. The first week is free, so your teachers and students can experience it before anything is signed.
